SASLI Fee Remission
Instructions and Application
Eligibility: Any
student who has registered for SASLI online is eligible to apply for
a SASLI Fee Remission. You must have registered online and paid the
application fee prior to submitting your fee remission application. Please note that to be eligible for the fee remission you MUST have a typed fee remission application on file. ***The Fee Remission application is separate from the online SASLI application.***
Instructions: Applications must be filled out and signed. You will not be able to save the PDF to your computer, so make sure you have all the information you need before you begin the application. As part
of your application, you must also send us a one-page statement
of purpose that addresses your financial need as well as your academic/other
interest in the language you are proposing to study. This statement must be typed and cannot
exceed one-page in length. You must also submit two Letters of Recommendation
sent either with your application or sent separately to the SASLI office.
The Letters of Recommendation may be sent via email, but from the referee's account only. Due to high email volume, it is best to have the Letters
sent via post. All materials must be post-marked by the deadline listed
below. Applications with pending Letters of Recommendation will not be
reviewed. Note: if your Fee Remission application is not typed, it will not be reviewed.
Number and Type of Awards: The
number of awards are based on
total student applicants to the SASLI program, which varies
from year to year. SASLI has typically given out 2-4 full fee remissions
and 4-10 half fee remissions. This is an extremely competitive process
and the best way to insure a favorable review is to send us your completed
application by the advertised deadline.
Notifications of awards: Notifications
will be sent to all applicants via email, those who receive a fee remission,
and those who do not. The review process does take time, so please be
patient with our process.
Deadline for Summer 2010: Friday, February 5, 2010
EMAIL APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE
ACCEPTED!
Link to Application disabled until late October 2009.
